Yakezie Carnival #11: The Ultimate Travel Edition
Who doesn’t like travelling?
Most of Yakezie members are travel enthusiasts. Many put travel as part of their life plan and diligently set aside money to budget for travel. Some like Foreigner’s Finance, Frugal Zeitgeist and Simple in France travel overseas to start a living. I personally find travel as the answer to some of life’s challenges.
It’s the variety and randomness aspect of travel refreshes you from daily grinds. The new scene makes you feel brand new. And if you’re lucky, you make friends with the locals, expand your horizon and hopefully score a free accommodation on your next visit.
I will kick off this carnival by challenging whether travelling is worth your money.

Very clever theme, especially since someday I want to travel more and more!
I wish I travelled more in the line of work that I do, I'd love to travel to other countries!
Thanks for doing such a wonderful job Great presentation!!!
Thanks for the link, great roundup
I love travel! It's definitely something I'll do more of in the future for sure. Right now, it's just 3 weeks on average overseas for me.
Cheers, Sam

BTW, are you on Twitter?
Thanks for dropping by, Sam.
Yes, @151daysoff . I think we follow each other already.
Thanks for putting together the carnival and I love the theme as well–especially since travel can be controversial in the PF community.
I've also written on my 5 year travel plan… so thanks for all these great travel links. I'm off to check them out.
I love the list on your travel plan! I want to go to all of them, well, all except Australia
I think these days you can fly here for USD 900. It's a big country so flying between cities will take a considerable chunk of your budget, although now you can fly for AUD 50 for a typical 1-hour trip.

Thanks for hosting and including my post. Now I want to take a trip! (Although that's pretty much a constant desire of mine…)
Great link roundup! Such a great idea. It's funny how everyone write about travel. Thanks for including my link!
Thanks so much for the link!
xoxo
Awesome carnival! Love the theme.
Thanks for the mention!
Your sentence second really made me think…we are a bunch of travel enthusiasts.

frugal b/c we travel or travel b/c we’re frugal?

Hmmmm… interesting. I think most of us are "born" with desire to travel but not born to be frugal.

What a great theme! Thanks for including me.
Great job on the carnival! I just joined Yakezie, hopefully i can be included in the next round!
Travel can be any of these things. For many it is theraputic and for others it is the only way to live. Good work on making sure that the financial implications come to the forefront of the idea. Many of our members invest on P2P lending sites and there are a lot of people going into debt to finance a vacation. While we believe you only live once, we don't think you should make it miserable by enjoying one week, and loathing the ensuing years that you have to pay that week off.
Thanks for the excellent carnival,
Timothy

Hmmm… the sailboat picture is missing the email? Wonder who took that?
Thanks.
Not sure, maybe someone who's been ripped off (haha, get it? – lame?).
